Stop guessing at four letters.

A 96-question cognitive function test built on Jung's eight functions and the Grant/Brownsword stack model. You get the mechanism — a ranked profile, a stack you can inspect, and an honest confidence reading — instead of a label with no explanation.

Common questions

Is this an MBTI test?

No. This is an independent cognitive function test built on Jung's eight psychological functions and the Grant/Brownsword stack model. It does not use any proprietary questions, scoring rules, or norms. Where we refer to four-letter type codes we are using the common community notation, not a licensed instrument.

Why 96 questions?

Twelve items per function gives enough resolution to separate two functions that score close together, which matters because most mistypes come from exactly that situation. It splits into four short chapters so you can see the end of each one.

Do you store my answers?

No. The entire test runs in your browser. Your answers are saved to your own device's local storage so you can close the tab and resume, and they are never transmitted anywhere. There is no account and no server-side record. You can export or delete your data at any time from the Data page.

What does "confidence" mean on the result page?

It measures how clearly your profile separates your best-fit type from the second-best. High confidence means the top type is well clear of the alternatives. Low confidence means several types are statistically close and you should read the top three, not just the first one.

Why does my result differ from what I have got elsewhere?

Usually because the other test measured something different. Comparative dichotomy questions and behavioural function questions are not two ways of measuring the same thing — they can legitimately disagree. The Mistype page exists specifically to show you where and why the two diverge.

Four chapters, ninety-six statements, about fourteen minutes.
